Composite reinforcement is a more durable, high—performance and lightweight solution for concrete. With a production speed of 10 m/min on two lines and a total capacity of about 2,800 km per year, the new Phylament reinforcement system offers completely new business opportunities.

Over the past 10 years, the composite rebar market has steadily grown at double-digit rates. Standards and a huge number of pilot projects have opened up the industry after decades of testing and engineering guidance. Today, the prospects for the next decade look equally optimistic.

In the filamentous reinforcement system, smooth fiberglass products pass through a closed injection chamber, where they are impregnated with matrix material, and then molded in a heated matrix. Unlike conventional profile pultrusion, the formed rod exits the matrix while the matrix material is still liquid. This is followed by diagonal wrapping with additional uniform stripes, which are also «wetted» with resin. Only after that the reinforcement hardens. Rolled into barrels or cut into pieces of a certain length, it is now ready for further processing. By evaluating various advanced surface texture technologies, such as various sand coatings, spiral grooves or spiral wraps, and measuring the strength level, our company Filamen has developed its own solution for spiral ribs, comparable to the solutions of leading companies and meeting established international construction standards. Compared to other valve technologies, the new technology saves materials and costs thanks to innovations in both chemistry and the production process.

Composite reinforcement has absolute advantages over steel reinforcement:
Properties of a longer service life
Absolute corrosion and alkali resistance
Excellent tensile strength and lightness
Excellent wear resistance
Non-magnetic and non-conductive
Very high chemical resistance
Low thermal conductivity
Easier maneuverability
