In a cattle breeding site, corrosion is a constant problem. Our company has found a solution to prevent destruction using a special form of fiberglass, which is a pultrusion support beam made of fiberglass (or basalt), designed and manufactured by our company. It is attached to the flooring, forming a two-stage floor for livestock housing. Farm owners needed a support beam that could withstand the high corrosive environment for keeping livestock, as well as withstand the load associated with the use of a nursery.

Steel and aluminum were other materials considered when designing the new support beam. However, none of these materials had the strength or corrosion resistance that the farm needed in its flooring systems. The double coating provided the basis for the design requirements and the loads to which the beam will be subjected. Then our company maximized the size, shape and composition of the profile in accordance with these requirements. Based on the load criteria, we chose the double profile design and optimized its technical properties to maximize its strength in this application, which showed high efficiency.
