Continuous basalt fiber is a new type of silicate fillers for composite materials.
The fiber is obtained by melting rock in feeder-type furnaces in the form of continuous, staple, chopped, coarse fiber, and nanopowders. The technology we have developed ensures a low residence time of the rock during the melting and clarification process, which implies lower costs per ton of finished product and better fiber quality.
According to our technology, continuous basalt fiber is obtained from molten rocks by forming threads several microns thick through spinnerets. Continuous basalt fiber is produced by drawing basalt threads from spinnerets using special winding devices. In this case, the winding speed is adjusted depending on the thickness of the winding layer, which creates a constant speed of fiber pulling and its constant thickness
